How Modernize works
The marketplace page describes quote-request leads delivered to a contractor’s CRM. (source: official source, as of 2026-09)
It separately lists inbound calls, pre-qualified live transfers, and branded campaigns. (source: official source, as of 2026-09)
A live transfer, a form-based lead, and a held in-home consultation are different units. Put the exact unit at the top of your comparison before you discuss price. If a proposal includes a conversation, ask whether it ends at a phone connection or includes scheduling and verified attendance.
How Britehome works
We document your territory, project types, timing, ownership or decision-maker requirements, minimum budget, and calendar rules before launch. We run the homeowner advertising at our cost and screen homeowners in a real conversation. A matching homeowner chooses an approved time on your calendar.
The process includes reminders and day-of confirmation. A booked slot alone is not billable: the consultation must take place and pass the written criteria. See how it works for the full model.
Where Modernize may make sense
A lead-based option may fit a contractor who wants to own the work from first contact through qualification and scheduling. That can include a business handling a phone queue or evaluating smaller projects where a separate in-home sales visit is not always useful. This is a conditional model-fit judgment, not a finding about this provider’s quality, results, or suitability for every trade.
Do not assume the phrase “exclusive media network” establishes that a particular homeowner request is sold to one contractor. Ask what the resale promise covers, which service and geography it applies to, and where it is written in the selected product’s terms. This is a purchasing question, not a claim about the answer.
Where a held-appointment model makes sense
Consider qualified held appointments when your sales process depends on an in-home consultation and your team wants the agreed screening and booking work completed before the visit. The fit is clearest when you can define the project, budget, timing, and area in writing, then make enough calendar space to run those consultations properly.
For example, compare the criteria for roofing appointments and bathroom remodeling appointments. Different scopes need different definitions of a useful visit. An appointment provider should not decide those requirements for you after the campaign begins.
Cost comparison: the formula, not a verdict
Use cost per qualified held consultation and cost per won job to compare like with like. For lead buying, divide cost per lead by contact rate × booking rate among contacts × held rate among bookings. Then divide by the close rate among held consultations to estimate the lead-fee component of cost per won job. If qualification is a separate filter, include that conditional pass rate too.
For a qualified held-appointment model, divide the appointment fee by the close rate among those appointments to estimate the appointment-fee component of cost per won job. Add allocated plan fees, advertising charges where applicable, qualification labor, sales time, and travel consistently. Lower fees at an earlier stage do not automatically mean a lower cost at the final stage.
Your comparison inputs are cost per lead, contact rate, booking rate, held rate, qualification pass rate if separate, and close rate. For the held model, use appointment fee and comparable close rate. Rates must be decimals and each denominator must describe the previous stage.
Use the same service, territory, and outcome window. Do not count a fresh lead cohort as a failure while giving another source months to mature. Report pending visits and proposals separately, and avoid a finite cost-per-win estimate if there are no wins in the observed group.
Switching or testing both models
You can evaluate both approaches without assuming one must immediately replace the other. Check the current provider’s terms before changing spend, and ask Britehome whether your service and territory are available. Keep duplicate homeowner opportunities visible so a sale is not credited in full to both sources.

Questions about the comparison
Is every Modernize product a shared lead?
The current site lists several products, including an exclusive-lead product in its login navigation. (source: official source, as of 2026-09) Confirm the exact product instead of applying one sharing rule to all of them.
Does this comparison rank lead quality?
No, this guide compares billing events and the work each agreement needs to define. It does not rate customer satisfaction, lead quality, or results.
What if the homeowner doesn’t show?
A booking alone is not the billable event; the consultation must take place and pass the written criteria.
Can I assume my territory is available?
No, service and territory availability need to be checked. Britehome works with one contractor per service per defined territory while it is assigned.
